Haridwar is an ancient city and important Hindu pilgrimage site in Uttarakhand. Haridwar is regarded as one of the seven holiest places to Hindus. The River Ganga, after flowing for 253 kilometres from its source at Gaumukh at the edge of the Gangotri Glacier, enters the Indo Gangetic Plains of North India for the first time at Haridwar, which gave the city its ancient name, Gangadwára.

Mansa Devi Temple
The Mansa Devi temple is a temple dedicated to Goddess Mansa Devi and it is located on the Sivalik Hills atop the Bilwa Parvat. It is also known as the Bilwa Tirth and is one of the five pilgrimages within Haridwar.
The temple is said to be home to Manasa, a form of Shakti who is said to have emerged from Lord Shiva’s mind.

Har Ki Pauri
One of the most sacred ghats, believed to have been built by King Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhartrihari. This ghat is also known as Brahmakund. Ganga Aarti held daily is held at the ghat. In the literal sense, “Har” means “Lord Shiva“, “Ki” means “of” and “Pauri” means “steps” It is considered to be an important landmark in the holy city of Haridwar.
